Frovatriptan 2.5mg Tablets contain the active ingredient frovatriptan, which belongs to a group of medicines known as triptans. It is used for the acute treatment of migraine attacks in adults. Frovatriptan works by narrowing widened blood vessels in the brain, helping to relieve migraine headache pain and associated symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and sensitivity to light and sound.

Frovatriptan should be taken only after a migraine headache has started and is not intended to prevent migraine attacks.

Frovatriptan 2.5mg Tablets are used for the treatment of migraine headaches in adults. It helps relieve headache pain and associated symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and sensitivity to light and sound during a migraine attack.

Who Is Frovatriptan Suitable For?

Frovatriptan is suitable for adults aged 18 years and over.

Do not take Frovatriptan if you:

• Are allergic to frovatriptan or any other ingredient
• Have heart disease, angina, or a history of heart attack
• Have had a stroke or transient ischaemic attack (TIA)
• Have untreated or poorly controlled high blood pressure
• Have severe liver problems
• Are taking ergotamine medicines or other triptans

Speak to a healthcare professional before use if you:

• Are at increased risk of heart disease
• Smoke heavily or use nicotine replacement therapy
• Take antidepressants such as SSRIs or MAOIs
• Use St John’s wort or buprenorphine

How to Take Frovatriptan 2.5mg Tablets

1. Swallow one tablet whole with water.
2. Take it as soon as your migraine headache starts.
3. If symptoms return, a second tablet may be taken after at least 2 hours.
4. Do not take more than two tablets within 24 hours.

Frovatriptan may be taken with or without food.

Possible Side Effects of Frovatriptan

Common side effects:

• Dizziness or sleepiness
• Nausea or indigestion
• Flushing or warm sensation
• Tiredness

Uncommon side effects:

• Chest discomfort or palpitations
• Muscle pain or stiffness
