Hycosan Extra contains sodium hyaluronate 0.2%, a highly concentrated, premium lubricant designed to provide intensive relief for chronic and severe dry eye symptoms. It works by forming a long-lasting, stable, and even moisture film on the surface of the eye without causing blurred vision. This preservative-free formula is specifically designed for those who require more frequent or intensive hydration due to persistent eye irritation.

Hycosan Extra is delivered via the unique COMOD® system, which ensures the solution remains sterile and easy to dispense. It is suitable for:

What Is Hycosan Extra Used For?

Hycosan Extra is used for the intensive lubrication of the eye surface in cases of severe and persistent dry eye sensations. It is particularly effective for those suffering from chronic irritation, “gritty” eyes, or discomfort following eye surgery. The high viscosity of the 0.2% sodium hyaluronate ensures that the drops stay on the eye for longer, providing extended comfort.

Who Is Hycosan Extra Suitable For?

Hycosan Extra is suitable for adults and children of all ages. It is also safe for use by women who are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Do not use Hycosan Extra if you:

• Have a known hypersensitivity (allergy) to any of the ingredients.

Speak to a healthcare professional before use if you:

• Are using other eye drops (leave at least 30 minutes between different eye treatments).
• Suffer from a serious eye infection or injury.

How to Use Hycosan

1. Remove the cap before use. Before the first application, prime the bottle by pressing the base until the first drop appears.
2. Hold the bottle upside down with the thumb on the shoulder of the bottle and the other fingers on the bottom.
3. Support the hand holding the bottle with the other hand.
4. Tilt your head back slightly, pull down your lower eyelid, and press the base of the bottle quickly and firmly.
5. Slowly close your eyes to allow the fluid to spread evenly. Replace the cap immediately after use.

The COMOD® system releases exactly one drop per pump. Avoid contact between the tip of the bottle and your eye or skin.

Possible Side Effects of Hycosan Extra

Because Hycosan Extra is preservative-free and phosphate-free, side effects are extremely rare.
In very isolated cases, users may experience:

• Temporary hypersensitivity reactions such as burning, redness, or excessive tearing.

These symptoms usually disappear immediately after the product is discontinued.

Warnings and Precautions

• Do not use if the seal is broken or damaged before the first use.
• If you use any other eye drops, wait at least 30 minutes before applying Hycosan Extra.
• Eye ointments should always be applied after using Hycosan Extra.
• If you wear contact lenses, it is recommended to wait 30 minutes after lens insertion before using the drops to prevent possible smearing.

Storage Instructions

• Store at room temperature (below 25°C).
• Keep out of the reach and sight of children.
• Can be used for 6 months after opening.
• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the packaging.
