About Lumecare Carbomer Eye Gel

Lumecare Carbomer Eye Gel is a high-viscosity artificial tear substitute containing carbomer 0.2%. It is specifically formulated to provide cooling, soothing, and long-lasting relief for individuals suffering from dry eye sensations, grittiness, and ocular irritation. By creating a transparent, lubricating film over the surface of the eye, it mimics natural tears to protect the cornea and conjunctiva.

This sterile gel is ideal for managing chronic dry eye syndrome or temporary discomfort caused by environmental factors such as wind, sun, central heating, or extensive computer use. Lumecare Carbomer Eye Gel is available in a convenient, easy-to-use tube:

  • Lumecare Carbomer Eye Gel – 10g
Medication Name Lumecare Carbomer Cooling and Soothing Eye Gel
Active Ingredient Carbomer 0.2% w/v
Medication Form Sterile eye gel
Used to Treat Dry eye syndrome, soreness, grittiness, and irritation
Available Sizes 10g tube
Who Can Use It Adults, the elderly, and children (consult a doctor for infants)

What Is Lumecare Carbomer Eye Gel Used For?

Lumecare Carbomer Eye Gel is used to treat symptoms of “dry eye,” including redness, soreness, and a burning or “gritty” sensation. It acts as a lubricant to replace natural tear fluid when the eye does not produce enough, providing a protective layer that stays on the eye surface longer than standard liquid drops.

Who Is Lumecare Carbomer Eye Gel Suitable For?

Lumecare is suitable for adults, children, and the elderly.

Do not use Lumecare Carbomer Eye Gel if you:

  • Are allergic to carbomer or any of the other ingredients (such as cetrimide)

Speak to a healthcare professional before use if you:

  • Wear contact lenses (see specific instructions below)
  • Are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Have a history of eye infections or recent eye surgery
  • Are using other eye medications simultaneously

Ingredients

Other ingredients: Cetrimide (preservative), sorbitol, sodium hydroxide, disodium edetate, and water for injections.

How to Use Lumecare Carbomer Eye Gel

  1. Wash your hands thoroughly before opening the tube.
  2. If you wear contact lenses, remove them before use and wait at least 30 minutes before reinserting.
  3. Tilt your head back and gently pull down the lower eyelid to form a small pocket.
  4. Hold the tube upside down near the eye and squeeze one drop into the pocket.
  5. Blink several times to ensure the gel is evenly distributed across the eyeball.
  6. Replace the cap immediately after use.

Do not let the tip of the tube touch the eye, eyelid, or any other surface to maintain sterility.

Possible Side Effects of Lumecare Carbomer Eye Gel

Common or expected effects:

  • Transient blurring of vision (immediately after application)
  • Mild stinging or burning sensation shortly after use

Rarely:

  • Hypersensitivity reactions (itching or redness)

If you experience severe eye pain or if irritation persists, stop use and consult your pharmacist or doctor.

Warnings and Precautions

  • Blurred Vision: This gel may cause temporary blurring of vision. Do not drive or operate machinery until your vision is completely clear.
  • Contact Lenses: Contains cetrimide, which may discolour soft contact lenses. Always remove lenses before application.
