About Otrivine Children’s Nasal Drops

Otrivine Children’s Nasal Drops contain xylometazoline hydrochloride 0.05%, a highly effective decongestant that helps to clear a blocked nose quickly. Specifically formulated for children, these drops work by constricting the blood vessels in the nasal passages, reducing swelling and inflammation. This allows your child to breathe more freely and helps clear mucus trapped in the sinuses.

Otrivine Children’s Nasal Drops are designed for short-term relief from nasal congestion associated with common colds, hay fever, and other forms of allergic rhinitis or sinusitis. The formula is fast-acting, often providing relief within minutes, and the effects can last for up to 10 hours.

What Is Otrivine Children’s Nasal Drops Used For?

Otrivine Children’s Nasal Drops are used to provide rapid relief from nasal congestion. They are particularly effective for treating a “stuffy nose” caused by the common cold, persistent hay fever, or sinusitis. By opening up the nasal passages, the drops help your child feel more comfortable and sleep better during respiratory illnesses.

How to Use Otrivine Children’s Nasal Drops

  1. Ensure the child blows their nose gently before use.
  2. Lean the child’s head back slightly or, if they are lying in bed, tilt the head over the side.
  3. Place the drops into each nostril, ensuring the dropper does not touch the nose.
  4. Keep the head tilted back for a few minutes to allow the medicine to spread.
  5. Clean and dry the dropper before replacing it in the bottle.

Do not use for more than 5 days in a row. Prolonged use can cause the congestion to return or worsen (rebound congestion).
