It contains the active ingredient carbomer, which helps to lubricate the surface of the eye, mimicking natural tears. This gel forms a protective layer over the eye, reducing discomfort and improving overall eye health.

How does Viscotears Gel work?

Viscotears Gel works by forming a lubricating layer on the surface of the eye. The active ingredient, carbomer, increases the viscosity of the gel, allowing it to stay on the eye longer than natural tears. This prolonged presence helps to keep the eye moist, reducing dryness and irritation. The gel also helps to protect the eye from further irritation by creating a barrier against environmental factors.

Who is Viscotears Gel suitable for?

Viscotears Gel is suitable for adults and children who experience dry eyes. It can be used by people who suffer from dry eyes due to environmental factors, prolonged screen time, or certain medical conditions. However, it may not be suitable for individuals who are allergic to any of its ingredients. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before using this gel. Additionally, people who wear contact lenses should remove them before applying the gel and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting them.

How to apply Viscotears Gel

1. Wash your hands thoroughly before applying the gel.
2. Remove the cap from the tube.
3. Tilt your head back and gently pull down the lower eyelid to create a small pocket.
4. Squeeze a small amount of gel (about the size of a grain of rice) into the pocket.
5. Blink a few times to spread the gel evenly across the surface of the eye.
6. Replace the cap on the tube.
7. Wash your hands again to remove any gel residue.

Apply Viscotears Gel as needed, usually 3 to 4 times a day, or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.

Continue using Viscotears Gel for as long as you experience symptoms of dry eyes. If your symptoms persist or worsen, consult your doctor or pharmacist.

Viscotears Gel Side Effects

Like all medications, Viscotears Gel can cause side effects, although not everyone will experience them.

Common Side Effects

• Temporary blurred vision
• Mild eye irritation

Uncommon Side Effects

• Redness of the eye
• Itching or stinging sensation

Serious Side Effects

• Severe eye pain
• Sudden vision changes
• Signs of an allergic reaction, such as swelling or rash

Viscotears Gel Ingredients

Active Ingredients: The active ingredient in Viscotears Gel is carbomer (2 mg/g).

Other Ingredients: Viscotears Gel also contains cetrimide, sorbitol, sodium hydroxide, and purified water.

Important Information

• Do not use Viscotears Gel if you are allergic to carbomer or any other ingredients in the gel.
• Do not use this gel while wearing contact lenses. Remove lenses before application and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting them.
• If you experience severe eye pain, sudden vision changes, or signs of an allergic reaction, stop using the gel and seek medical attention immediately.
• Store Viscotears Gel at room temperature and keep it out of reach of children.
• Do not use the gel after the expiry date printed on the tube and packaging.
