About Ambelina Contraceptive Pill

Ambelina is a combined oral contraceptive pill, commonly known as “the Pill,” used to prevent pregnancy. Each tablet contains two types of female hormones: 30 micrograms of ethinylestradiol (an oestrogen) and 150 micrograms of levonorgestrel (a progestogen). Because every active tablet in the pack contains the same dose of hormones, it is known as a monophasic contraceptive.

Ambelina works in three ways: it prevents the ovaries from releasing an egg (ovulation), thickens the fluid in the cervix to make it difficult for sperm to enter the womb, and alters the lining of the womb to prevent a fertilised egg from implanting.

What Is Ambelina Used For?

Ambelina is primarily used for hormonal contraception to prevent unplanned pregnancy. Due to the way it stabilizes hormone levels, it is also frequently used to manage symptoms related to the menstrual cycle, such as making periods regular, lighter, and less painful.
