About Hylo-Tear Preservative Free Eye Drops

Hylo-Tear Eye Drops contain 0.1% Sodium Hyaluronate, a high-quality lubricant designed to provide long-lasting relief for dry, itchy, or tired eyes. These drops create a stable, long-lasting moisture film on the eye’s surface without causing blurred vision. Formulated using the innovative COMOD® system, Hylo-Tear is completely preservative-free and phosphate-free, making it exceptionally gentle for sensitive eyes and suitable for long-term use.

Hylo-Tear is suitable for adults, children, and those who are pregnant or breastfeeding. It is available in a specialized multi-dose bottle:

  • Hylo-Tear Eye Drops – 10ml (Provides at least 300 drops)

Other Ingredients Citrate Buffer, Sorbitol, Water
Medication Form Preservative-free sterile eye drops
Used to Treat Dry eye symptoms, stinging, itching, and foreign body sensations
Available Sizes 10ml bottle (approx. 300 drops)
Who Can Use It Adults, children, and contact lens wearers

What Is Hylo-Tear Used For?

Hylo-Tear is used to lubricate the surface of the eye (the cornea and conjunctiva) when natural tear production is insufficient. It relieves “dry eye” syndrome caused by environmental factors like air conditioning, wind, or prolonged computer use. It provides a soothing protective layer that stays on the eye for an extended period, preventing irritation and grittiness.

Who Is Hylo-Tear Suitable For?

Hylo-Tear is suitable for all ages and is safe for use by contact lens wearers (both hard and soft lenses).

Do not use Hylo-Tear Eye Drops if you:

  • Are allergic (hypersensitive) to sodium hyaluronate or any other ingredients in the formula.

Speak to a healthcare professional before use if you:

  • Are using other eye medications. You should wait at least 30 minutes after using Hylo-Tear before applying other eye drops.
  • Experience persistent eye pain or changes in vision.

How to Use Hylo-Tear Eye Drops

  1. Remove the cap by holding the bottle and pulling the cap off with a rotating motion.
  2. Before the first application, prime the bottle by pressing the base until the first drop appears.
  3. Hold the bottle upside down with your thumb on the shoulder and fingers on the base.
  4. Tilt your head back, pull down the lower eyelid, and press the base firmly to release one drop.
  5. Close your eye slowly to allow the liquid to spread evenly.
  6. Replace the cap immediately after use, ensuring the tip of the bottle is dry.

The COMOD® system ensures that only one drop is released per pump, regardless of the pressure applied.

Possible Side Effects of Hylo-Tear

Because Hylo-Tear is free from preservatives, side effects are very rare. However, some users may experience:

  • Temporary mild stinging or redness immediately after application.
  • Hypersensitivity reactions (itching or swelling), which stop once use is discontinued.

If you experience any severe irritation or vision changes, consult your optician or GP.

Warnings and Precautions

  • If using other eye drops, wait 30 minutes between applications; Hylo-Tear should always be used first.
  • If using eye ointments, always apply them after using Hylo-Tear.
  • Do not touch the tip of the bottle to your eye or skin to prevent contamination.
  • Safe for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Storage Instructions

  • Store at room temperature (below 25°C).
  • Keep out of the reach and sight of children.
  • Important: Discard the bottle 6 months after the first opening.
